Rotorua School Rowers
School Rowers row for the club during the inter-club season and for their respective schools during the Secondary School rowing season. As schools do not have the numbers to maintain a rowing program long term it is much more effective for the club to provide the equipment and facilities and make it available to all the schools and club members. Our club numbers are approximately 40, including coaches and committee members.
For new and returning School and club rowers, the new season's winter training program starts in early Winter. A winter program is an important part of your preparation and we'll work around your winter sport. Training options are Saturday or Sunday.
If new, talk to a rower at school, or use the enquiry form on the Membership tab. If you'd like to have a go then just turn up and join in.
Novice school or club rowers also need to start learning to row from Terms 2 and 3. Look for notices on our Facebook page, this website, or ask at your school. You'll have a few weeks to try out and there will be information nights to explain what's involved. If you'd like to try rowing then use the enquiry form or talk to rowers at your school.
We are also looking for coaches to assist us with the school program this year. Training and supervision is provided. You'll be part of a team. Suits ex rowers, rowing parents and year 12 or 13 students looking to add to their CVs. If interested use the enquiry form on the Membership tab.
